Terms & Conditions

• Booking requests will be reviewed and confirmed within 24 hours, based on requirements being met and documentation received.

• Minimum booking age: 25 (At least one guest in the booking must be over 25 years of age. We reserve the right to view photo identification on request)

• Full names and ages of guests 18 years and older is required

• Great South Getaways reserves the right to accept or decline any booking requests.

Minimum Stay

The minimum rental period for most properties is 3 nights, although this can vary between properties. Please check booking dates over peak Winter, & Christmas / New Year as a 5 – 7 minimum night stay may apply.

Maximum Guests

No bookings will be approved if guest numbers exceed maximum allowed, irrespective of beds/bedrooms available. Any changes to group numbers must be agreed to in writing, and additional guest information supplied on request.

Cancellation Policy:

Please review the cancellation policy for the property you are booking. If booking directly on www.greatsouthgetaways.nz, cancellations within 24 hours are refundable, (less the 2.95% + NZ 0.30c per transaction Stripe credit card processing fee).

Before cancelling your booking, please consider rebooking for a future date. (Bookings may be moved once only. Extra charges may apply if new nightly rates are greater than those in original booking. Refunds will not be provided if nightly rate fees are less than those in original booking). Note: we do not hold funds in credit.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance through an approved provider, to protect your holiday from unforeseen events / circumstances. Refunds are not available in the event of natural disasters beyond our control. A partial refund or credit may be payable at owner discretion (only in exceptional circumstances).

Arrival:

Check-in is from 3pm.

Access details will be emailed the day before arrival. Please advise your intended arrival time prior to check-in. It is helpful for our cleaning staff to know in advance if you intend arriving later than 3pm, particularly at high- peak times when we have multiple turnarounds at properties.

A ‘Guest Information Compendium’ is available at the property. Please familiarise yourself with these instructions. If you have any questions during your stay you are welcome to call us (number in Guest Compendium)

Departure:

Check out is 10am.

Please return key to lockbox and remember to leave the remote for the garage door (if one has been supplied). For security reasons, we appreciate you texting us to notify of your departure.

In some cases a later check-out may be possible. Please contact us 24 hours prior to departure, and we’ll endeavour to assist. However we appreciate your co-operation and understanding that turnaround timings for bookings may prevent this. An additional charge of NZD60 (+GST) per hour applies for late check-outs not agreed to.

Linen:

Linen hire is included in nightly rate, and includes bedding and towelling. All laundering is done off-site by professional launderers, so please do not wash unless absolutely necessary.

Cleaning:

An exit clean will be completed following your departure – please refer to Cleaning Fee when processing your booking. Properties are not serviced during guest stays, however cleaning / linen-change can be arranged on request. Please advise on booking, and a quote will be provided.

Please note: Bookings exceeding 14 days in duration have a mandatory mid-stay clean requirement (at a charge of $45 plus GST per hour) on a fortnightly basis.

Guests can be assured that robust cleaning protocols are in place to sanitise properties in-between bookings.

Refuse and recycling:

All properties are supplied with 3 council bins. Please ensure correct bins are utilized. Should bins need sorting on departure and/or excess removal required, a charge of $60 per hour (+GST) will apply and $20 (+GST) transfer station services.

Keys

If you misplace your guest keys during your stay, a surcharge of NZD $50 (incl GST) will apply (plus hourly rate of NZD $45 (plus GST) per hour for manager to organise replacement keys. Because of security considerations, failure to return keys on departure may result in a charge to cover changing of locks at the property.

Booking Payments:

Refer to channel settings. Please note, these are set by the booking channel, and we are unable to alter these

Security Deposit:

We reserve the right to charge for damage. A security deposit may be placed on booker’s credit card to the value of between $250-350. Once a departure inspection has been completed (with no evidence of damage or excess cleaning requirements) this hold will be lifted.

Guests will be notified within 3 days of departure of any additional charges incurred. NB: the security bond is in addition to the accommodation fee quoted on our website.

Damages / Missing Items

All damages or missing articles (exceeding $20 in value) will be charged at full replacement or repair cost plus 15%. It is the responsibility of the guest who has made the booking to report property damage, or damage to contents of the property as soon as possible. We understand mishaps occur, and we value your co-operation and consideration in this event

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted inside the property. Should smoke odours be detected additional cleaning and / or fumigation costs of NZD $350 incl GST will apply.

Consumables:

The property is supplied with complimentary essentials to ‘get you going’. Please be aware we do not re-stock supplies during your stay.

Returning ‘left-behind’ guest items

If you require us to courier any items accidentally left behind, courier costs will apply, plus an admin fee of NZD $25 (plus GST).

Respect for property and neighbourhood:

In addition to these Terms and Conditions, a breach of the following may result in eviction and/or a fine of up to $500:

• No tents or caravans on the property.

• No parties, events, weddings, receptions, stag or hen do’s.

• Guest numbers must not exceed the number of guests permitted on the property at any given time

for the duration of the booking.

• No excessive noise permitted and/or disruption to neighbours. Quiet times must be observed

between 10pm and 7am.

• No smoking unless pre-approved.

• No verbal or physical abuse towards staff, property-owner or neighbour.

• No illegal substances or activities on the premises.

• No tampering with items that could invalidate any insurance policies, including smoke alarms.

• No moving or re-arranging of furniture.

• No leaving lit fireplaces/BBQ’s unattended.

• No fireworks on the premises or within the neighbourhood.

Should an eviction be necessary all payments made will be forfeited and additional charges may apply. The property manager will remain on the premises until all guests have vacated.

Liability

No liability can be accepted by Great South Getaways for any injury, loss or damage to guest or guest’s property, or any visitor to the rental property, arising out of or in connection to use of the rental property.

Date Changes

Additional charges may apply (as rates can differ during certain times of the year). No refunds for premature departures.

Unavailability

Should a property become unavailable after a booking is confirmed, Great South Getaways will attempt to find similar alternative accommodation. If this is not possible a full refund will be given.

Privacy Policy

We are committed to ensuring the protection of your privacy. Under no circumstances will your booking details be shared amongst individuals or distributed to third-party organisations without consent.

Fair-Use Policy

The fair and reasonable use of utilities and internet (as described in the listing) is included in the nightly tariff. Additional charges may apply if excessive use occurs, (e.g. heating left running for long periods when the house is unoccupied).

Third Party Bookings:

The booker will need to supply full names and ages of all guests 18 years and older and photo identification of the most “senior” guest. The booker will be bound by the terms and conditions and accountable for any damages caused.

Terms and Conditions

The Guest agrees by the payment of the booking deposit to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and authorises Great South Getaways to charge their credit card for any additional cleaning, damage, loss, and other charges as detailed in these Terms and Conditions.
